Persevering in Doing Good

Encouragement through Difficult Times

Persevering in Doing Good

2 Thessalonians 3:13 (ESV) "As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good."

Background

The second letter to the Thessalonians is a letter of encouragement and instruction. In chapter 3, Paul addresses the Thessalonian believers and encourages them to continue living faithfully and diligently. In verse 13, he specifically urges them not to tire or lose heart in doing good deeds and living according to their faith.

Be Encouraged

As you begin this week, ponder the words of 2 Thessalonians 3:13: "As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good." This verse is a gentle reminder that even in the midst of difficulties, your efforts to do good are not in vain. Imagine yourself as a steady light, shining even when darkness tries to encroach. While the world may offer reasons to grow tired, you have a wellspring of strength to draw from.

Think of the countless small acts of kindness, the encouraging words you've shared, and the efforts you've made to make the world a better place. Even when progress seems slow, remember that every good deed matters. Like a seed planted in fertile ground, your actions have the potential to grow into something beautiful and impactful. So, when weariness tempts you to falter, cling to the promise of this verse—your efforts are making a difference.

Supporting Verses

Galatians 6:9 (KJV): "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Hebrews 6:10 (ESV): "For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do."

May you find renewed determination in doing good, knowing that your efforts have a lasting impact. Share this message of encouragement with others, reminding them that every act of kindness counts. May your day be filled with the joy that comes from living out your faith.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, as I face this day, help me not to grow weary in doing good. May I find strength in knowing that my efforts, no matter how small, contribute to Your kingdom. Grant me the perseverance to continue shining Your light. In Jesus' name. Amen.
