Drawing Closer to God

The Nearness of God's Presence

Psalm 73:28 (KJV) "But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works."

Background

Psalm 73 is a reflection on the struggles of faith and the seeming prosperity of the wicked. In verse 28, the psalmist Asaph reaches a profound realization. He acknowledges the goodness of drawing near to God and placing his trust in the Lord. This verse encapsulates the transformation that occurs when one draws closer to God and the desire to proclaim His works.

Be Encouraged

As you step into this new day, consider the words of Psalm 73:28: "But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works." This verse unveils a powerful truth—you are meant to draw near to God, and it is good for your soul. In drawing near to Him, you find refuge, strength, and purpose.

Drawing near to God is an act of trust. It's an acknowledgment that He is your source of hope and salvation. As you place your trust in Him, you become a witness to His mighty works in your life. Every step you take toward God is a step into His presence, where you discover peace in turmoil, clarity in confusion, and strength in weakness. It is from this place of nearness that you are empowered to declare God's works to the world, becoming a living testament to His faithfulness.

May your journey of drawing closer to God continue to deepen, leaving a trail of transformed hearts in its wake.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I draw near to You today, recognizing that it is good for my soul. I place my trust in You, knowing that in Your presence, I find all I need. As I draw nearer to You, may Your works be evident in my life, and may I declare Your faithfulness to all. In Jesus' name.  Amen.
