God's Testimony in Creation

The Beauty of God’s Creation

God's Testimony in Creation

Acts 14:17

"Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness."

Starting Prayer

Dear Lord, as I meditate on Your creation and Your goodness, I seek Your guidance and wisdom. Help me to understand the significance of Your testimony in nature and how it reflects Your character. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Background

In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas preach the gospel in Lystra, where they heal a man crippled from birth. The people, mistaking them for gods, try to offer sacrifices to them. Paul and Barnabas correct them, pointing to the living God who created the heavens and the earth. The selected verse, Acts 14:17, emphasizes how God reveals Himself through His creation, providing evidence of His existence and goodness.

Be Encouraged

As we observe the natural world around us, we witness God's faithfulness and provision. The changing seasons, the rain that nourishes the earth, and the abundant harvests all testify to His care and love for us. Just as God provides for the physical needs of creation, He also meets our spiritual needs, offering us salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Consider the words of Psalm 145:15-16, which echo the sentiment of Acts 14:17: "The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing." Let us rejoice in the goodness of God and His abundant provision for us, both physically and spiritually.

Supporting Verses

- Psalm 19:1: "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."

- Romans 1:20: "For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."

I invite you to reflect on God's testimony in creation today and to recognize His goodness in every aspect of our lives. Let us respond with gratitude and worship, acknowledging His sovereignty over all things. If you have not given your life to Christ, I invite you to do so through faith (Hebrews 11:6), repentance (Luke 13:3), public confession of faith (Romans 10:9-10), baptism for forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) and be added to the saved (Acts 2:41, 47). Share this message with others, inviting them to join you in praising God for His beautiful creation.

Concluding Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for the abundant evidence of Your goodness in creation. Help us to always recognize Your handiwork and to glorify You in all that we do. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord bless your day.
