Holy, Holy, Holy

The Glory of God’s Majesty

Holy, Holy, Holy

Isaiah 6:3 (ESV)

"And one called to another and said: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!'"

Starting Prayer

Dear Lord, as I come before You today, I humbly seek Your wisdom and understanding to comprehend the depth of Your holiness and glory. Guide me by Your Spirit as I meditate on Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Background

Isaiah 6 recounts the prophet Isaiah's vision of God's throne room, where he witnesses the heavenly beings proclaiming the holiness and glory of the Lord. In verse 3, the seraphim declare the triple repetition of "holy" to emphasize the utter purity and transcendence of God's nature. The vision highlights the majesty and splendor of God's presence, filling the entire earth with His glory.

Be Encouraged

The triple declaration of "holy" in Isaiah's vision underscores the unmatched purity and perfection of God's character. As we reflect on the holiness of God, we are reminded of His absolute righteousness and moral excellence. This should lead us to reverence and awe in His presence, acknowledging His sovereignty over all creation.

Furthermore, recognizing God's holiness prompts us to pursue holiness in our own lives. Just as Isaiah was profoundly impacted by the sight of God's holiness and confessed his unworthiness, we too should humbly submit ourselves to God and strive to live in accordance with His holy standards. By allowing God's holiness to transform us, we can experience His presence more deeply and reflect His glory to the world around us.

Supporting Verses

- Leviticus 19:2 (ESV) - "Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy."

- 1 Peter 1:15-16 (ESV) - "But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'"

Invitation

I invite you to join me in acknowledging the holiness and glory of God, recognizing His unmatched purity and perfection. Let us respond to His holiness by surrendering our lives to Him and seeking to live in a manner that honors Him. If you have not yet obeyed the gospel of Christ, I urge you to recognize the holiness of God and turn to Him in faith (Hebrews 11:6), repentance (Acts 17:30-31), and baptism for forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) and the Lord will add you to the saved (Acts 2:41, 47). Share this message of salvation and transformation with others, inviting them to experience the holiness and glory of God for themselves.

Concluding Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the revelation of Your holiness and glory. Help me to live in reverence and awe of You, and to reflect Your holiness in all areas of my life. May Your name be exalted and glorified in everything I do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God bless your day.
