Worship the Lord in Splendour and Majesty

The Glory of God’s Majesty

Worship the Lord in Splendour and Majesty

Psalm 96:6

"Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary."

Starting Prayer

Dear Lord, as I come before You today, I seek Your guidance and understanding as I meditate on Your Word. Grant me insight into Your splendor and majesty, that I may worship You wholeheartedly. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Background

Psalm 96 is a call to worship the Lord with joy and reverence, acknowledging His supremacy and greatness. The psalm exalts God as the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the universe, deserving of praise and adoration from all people and nations. Verse 6 specifically highlights the splendor and majesty that surround God, emphasizing His glory and power manifested in His sanctuary.

Be Encouraged

As we contemplate the splendor and majesty of God, we are reminded of His greatness and worthiness of our worship. Just as the beauty of nature reflects God's glory, so does the magnificence of His sanctuary. When we gather to worship Him, we enter into His presence with awe and reverence, recognizing His sovereignty over all creation. This should stir within us a desire to offer Him our heartfelt praise and adoration, giving Him the honor and glory He deserves.

Moreover, the strength and beauty found in God's sanctuary serve as a reminder of His provision and protection for His people. In His presence, we find refuge and strength, enabling us to face life's challenges with confidence and courage. Therefore, let us approach God's sanctuary with gratitude and humility, ready to receive His blessings and experience His transforming power in our lives.

Supporting Verses:

- Psalm 29:2 (ESV) - "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness."

- Psalm 96:9 - "Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!"

Invitation

I invite you to join me in worshiping the Lord in splendour and majesty, acknowledging His greatness and sovereignty over all creation. Let us enter His sanctuary with reverence and awe, offering Him our heartfelt praise and adoration. If you have not yet obeyed the gospel of Christ, I urge you to recognize God's splendour and majesty and respond in faith (Hebrews 11:6), repentance (Luke 13:3), public confession of faith (Romans 10:9-10), baptism for forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) and be added to the saved (Acts 2:41, 47). Share this message of worship and praise with others, inviting them to experience the joy of worshiping the Lord together.

Concluding Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the privilege of worshiping You in splendor and majesty. Help me to approach Your sanctuary with reverence and awe, giving You the honor and glory You deserve. May my worship be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God bless your day.
