Background

Psalm 29 is a hymn of praise that exalts the sovereignty and power of God over the forces of nature. It describes His voice as thunderous and majestic, shaking the wilderness and causing the deer to give birth. The selected verse, Psalm 29:2, calls on believers to give glory to the Lord and worship Him in the splendor of holiness, acknowledging His greatness and majesty.

Just as the psalmist acknowledges the awe-inspiring power of God's voice in the thunderstorms, we are reminded to recognize and honour the glory due His name.
