Bold Witnesses for Christ

The Challenge of God’s Commission

Bold Witnesses for Christ

Acts 4:20 (ESV)

"For we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard."

Starting Prayer

Dearest Lord, as I meditate on Acts 4:20, grant me the courage to boldly preach about Christ. Open my heart to share the transformative experiences of Your love. In Jesus name. Amen.

Background

Acts 4 captures the aftermath of Peter and John's healing of a lame man. Faced with opposition, Peter and John boldly declare that they cannot help but speak of what they have seen and heard concerning Jesus Christ.

Be Encouraged

Consider Matthew 28:18-20:

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.'"

Reflect on Mark 16:15:

"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'"

Picture yourself, like Peter and John, courageously proclaiming the Gospel despite opposition. Your experiences with Christ are powerful testimonies that can impact others.

The challenge of God's commission is to be bold witnesses for Christ, sharing the transformative power of the Gospel with everyone.

Concluding Prayer

Lord, thank you for the example of bold witnesses in Acts 4. May I, too, boldly proclaim the Gospel, sharing the transformative experiences of Your love. In Jesus' name I pray with gratitude. Amen.

God bless you for meditating on His word.
