God’s Ultimate Display of Love

The Gift of God’s Son

God’s Ultimate Display of Love

1 John 4:9-10

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

Starting Prayer

Heavenly Father, as I delve into Your Word today, may the reality of Your immense love, displayed through the gift of Your Son, resonate deeply within my heart. Guide me in understanding the magnitude of this sacrificial love. Amen.

Background

The theme of love is foundational in 1 John 4. These verses (9-10) encapsulate the pinnacle of God’s love—sending His only Son, not due to our love for Him, but as a manifestation of His divine and sacrificial love. The Son's purpose was to bring us life through Him and serve as the atonement for our sins.

Be Encouraged

Consider Romans 5:10:

"For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life."

Reflect on John 15:13:

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

Today, be encouraged by God's ultimate display of love. Christ's sacrifice reconciles us to God, emphasizing the Father's love for us. Recognize the depth of this love, inviting you to wholly surrender your life to Christ for salvation. Share this message of divine love with others.

Concluding Prayer

Gracious Father, I am overwhelmed by the depth of Your love displayed through the gift of Your Son. Thank You for the sacrificial atonement that allows me to live through Him. As I embark on this day, I express my gratitude for Your love that knows no bounds. In Jesus' name, amen.

Warm regards,
