No. 322 - The Lord's Faithful Protection

The Armour of God’s Protection

The Lord's Faithful Protection

2 Thessalonians 3:3

"But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."

Starting Prayer

Dear Lord, as I reflect on Your faithfulness today, grant me understanding and insight into Your protective power. Help me to trust in Your guidance. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Background

Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians encourages believers to remain steadfast in their faith amidst trials and to wait patiently for the Lord's return. In 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Paul reassures the believers of the Lord's unwavering faithfulness and His power to protect them from evil. This message is a reminder that God is always with us, guarding us against harm.

Be Encouraged

Imagine a shepherd guarding his sheep, always watchful and ready to defend them from any danger. This is how God protects us. In 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Paul emphasises God's faithfulness and His promise to establish and guard us from the evil one. No matter the challenges we face, we can rely on God's constant protection. His faithfulness never wavers, and His love surrounds us like a shield.

Consider a time when you felt vulnerable and alone. Reflect on how God has been your refuge, guiding you through difficult times. His protection is not just a promise; it is an active, ongoing reality in our lives. We can face each day with confidence, knowing that God is our steadfast protector, always faithful and true.

Application

To further enrich today's message, reflect on these verses:

Psalm 121:7-8 "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore."

Proverbs 18:10  "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

Invitation

If you have not yet committed your life to Christ, I invite you to visit any nearby Church of Christ. Through faith (Hebrews 11:6), repentance from sin (Acts 2:38; 17:30-31), and baptism for the forgiveness of all past sins to be saved (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38), the Lord will add you to His church. Here, you will continue to learn more about God and put into practice Christ's commandments (Matthew 28:18-20). Reflect on today’s message and allow the Spirit to guide you in making this important decision. Share this message with your loved ones and encourage them to seek God's protection and righteousness as well.

Concluding Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithful protection and guidance. Help me to trust in Your promises and to rely on Your strength each day. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord bless your day.
