No. 302 - The Everlasting Kingdom

The Celebration of God’s Kingdom

The Everlasting Kingdom

Daniel 7:27

"And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him."

Starting Prayer

Dear Lord, please open my heart and mind to understand Your Word today. Help me to see the beauty and power of Your everlasting kingdom. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Background

Daniel 7 presents a vision of four great beasts representing different kingdoms, followed by the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom. In Daniel 7:27, we see the climax of this vision, where God's everlasting kingdom is given to the saints. This chapter reveals God's ultimate plan for His people and His sovereignty over all earthly powers.

Be Encouraged

The promise of an everlasting kingdom given to the saints is a source of immense encouragement. Despite the chaos and turmoil in our world, God's kingdom stands firm. This kingdom is not like any earthly kingdom; it is eternal and filled with righteousness. Knowing that we belong to this everlasting kingdom gives us hope and purpose. It reminds us that our struggles are temporary and that we have a glorious future with God.

Think about the challenges you face daily. In moments of difficulty, remember that you are part of God's eternal kingdom. This perspective can transform how you deal with life's trials. You are not just enduring for the sake of endurance; you are living with the hope of an everlasting kingdom where justice, peace, and love prevail. Let this hope inspire you to live faithfully and courageously.

Application

Consider Revelation 11:15, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever," and 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."

Invitation

If you have not yet committed your life to Christ, today is the perfect day to step into His light and become part of His everlasting kingdom. Visit a nearby Church of Christ to learn about obeying the gospel through faith (Hebrews 11:6), repentance (Acts 2:38; 17:30-31), and baptism for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38). The Lord will add you to His church, where you will continue to grow in your faith and follow Christ’s teachings (Matthew 28:18-20). Embrace the promise of God’s everlasting kingdom and share this hope with others. Make today the day you start living for Christ and reflecting His glory in the world.

Concluding Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for the promise of Your everlasting kingdom. Help me to live each day with the hope and joy of being part of Your eternal plan. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord bless your day.
